South Asia (comprising Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) accounts for a disproportionate number of maternal and under 5 deaths.3 Of 2.5 million neonatal deaths in 2017, 43% occurred in South Asia.
